The Blur Drummer Dave Rowntree has cheerfully recounted that he is glad Oasis is back together and has labelled the legendary rivalry between the Britpop giants as “helpful media hype”. The Blur Drummer Eager for Oasis Reunion is a perfect testament that the drummer is past any form of animosity.
The two Britpop bands were locked in an infamous rivalry throughout the 1990s, but it seems the Blur drummer is holding no grudges as long-feuding brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher announced last week that they would be reuniting as Oasis for a series of 17 summer stadium gigs across the UK and beyond. Tickets for the Oasis comeback tour sold out for all the dates the band announced they would play across the UK and Ireland next summer.

Mr Rowntree, who lives in Sussex, said he would “definitely go and see” Noel and Liam Gallagher’s comeback and excitedly exclaimed that he would be “first in the queue” as he had never seen Oasis live before.
In the year 2023, the British rock band Blur came into existence again with their 9th studio album The Ballad Of Darren. The group held two live shows at the Wembley Stadium and these performances were recorded for a Blur documentary – Blur: To The End.
The Blur band consists of singer Albarn, drummer Rowntree, guitarist Graham Coxon, and bass player Alex James. Two of the group’s UK number-one albums have delivered two charting singles, Beetlebum and Country House.
“Blur and Oasis combined changed what the pop music genre meant, and that doesn’t happen very often,” he said.
Blur has had several hits, including Parklife, Country House, and Girls & Boys, and in 2012 the group received a Brit Award for outstanding contribution to music.
The drummer, who ran as Labour’s MP candidate in Mid Sussex in the general election, said people often overlaid “their particular prejudice” over the depicted rivalry between the bands.
“So people wanting to see England as a North-South divided country could lay that on there, people that wanted to view it in terms of class could do that,” he said. The Blur Drummer Eager for Oasis Reunion echoes the sentiment we all have: Everyone is excited for the Oasis Concert!
