David Gilmour – guitar icon and former member of the legendary Pink Floyd – has just released his latest solo album. The new album is titled Luck and Strange and was released recently.

Featuring the singles The Piper’s Call, Between Two Points, and Dark and Velvet Nights, Luck and Strange was recorded over five months in Brighton and London and is David’s first album of new material in nine years.

The record was produced by David and Charlie Andrew, best known for his work with alt-J and Marika Hackman. The album features artwork and photography by the renowned artist Anton Corbijn. David Gilmour’s has produced several hits and is and will always be considered a legend.

The release has generated a lot of interest among drum enthusiasts out there as David was supported in the studio by Steve Gadd himself. However, the American master drummer is not going to join David Gilmour live to promote the album. Who’s going to sit behind the drums on this tour?

It is Adam Betts. He has a jazz degree from the Royal College of Music Adam and has been shaping young drummers’ careers as a tutor at the renowned BIMM London for years. Adam has toured the world with UK funk legend James Taylor, but his passion for electronic music soon saw him venture in this direction. His original band ThreeTrappedTigers and his work with Goldie, Emperor Yes and The Heritage Orchestra all verify his place firmly in that genre.

As a live and studio musician, he has worked with the likes of MYD, Jarvis Cocker, Squarepusher, Pete Tong, Emperor Yes, James Taylor (UK funk legend), and most recently David Gilmour. Adam took part in the recording sessions for the “Luck and Strange” album as a percussionist and played the drum kit on one of the songs. He also has a solo album, titled “Colossal Squid“, under his belt. David Gilmour’s team is geared up for the album promotion tour.

Adam had excitedly shared a video of the live session on Instagram which was done in the rehearsal for the promotion of the album.
