Lime Cordiale has shared some heartbreaking news with fans, revealing that their longtime drummer, James Mounsey-Jennings, is taking a break from the band to focus on his life living in London.
The band shared the news on Instagram.
“James has been our drummer for 16 years and has decided to take a break to concentrate on his life in London,” the band captioned the post. “He’s one of our bestest friends in the world. Anyone that gets to work with him in the UK is one lucky fucker. We’ll miss Django keeping us on and on time. Love this man more than anything.”
In a post of his own, Mounsey-Jennings recounted, “Just a little life update… I’m going to be taking a break from playing and touring with Lime Cordiale.

“I’m going to be focusing on my own career, goals and life here in London. It has been a crazy wonderful 16 years from playing to just our parents and friends to thousands in Australia and around the world. I wish the team the best for the upcoming shows & tours! Lots of love.”
In July, Lime Cordiale released their long-awaited and amazing third album, Enough Of The Sweet Talk. The album announcement arrived after the band revealed tour plans with Ball Park Music.
On the tour, Lime Cordiale said, “We’ve been spending so much time overseas; it’s so exciting to come home for our biggest shows yet. We’re putting a lot into making the production and stage set super exciting, but as always, we want to make this feel like an intimate 100-capacity party.”
Enough Of The Sweet Talk is the follow-up to their 2022 six-track EP with actor/musician Idris Elba, and Cordi Elba, and comes after their two albums, 2020’s 14 Steps To A Better You and 2017’s Permanent Vacation.
Following the release of Enough Of The Sweet Talk, Lime Cordiale debuted atop the ARIA Albums Chart – the first Australian artist to do so in 2024 (by August of this year).
