Latin Percussion (LP) is celebrating its 60th anniversary by the release of some limited edition instruments which represent the legacy and innovation of the brand. The limited editions are equipped with all kinds of percussion instruments like congas, bongos, timbales, and cajon, which are all designed to praise Latin Percussion’s history and craftsmanship.

The 60th Anniversary Congas carries a nostalgic flair. Although they include fiberglass bodies that are an exact replica of the regular LP models, they introduced some modern enhancements like the Top-Tuning Comfort Curve II rims for easier tuning and playability. These congas are available in different sizes such as the Quinto which is 11″ and the Conga which is 11 3/4″, and the Tumba which is 12 1/2″. The Roasted Hazel color is quite unique because each drum will be slightly different.

Ever looked into the specifics of congos and bongos? There’s always more to learn. For example, LP is using zebra wood again, which resembles the bongos LP produced in the 1970s This special edition is very unique in that each set is personally signed and numbered by John “Dandy” Rodriguez himself, giving them a high collectible value. Dandy played a key role in the development of LP throughout the years.

The Groove Cajon is also another standout of the 60th-anniversary lineup. It is crafted by hand and hand-painted in the Roasted Hazel finish. The soundboard is made of Baltic Birch which is famous for its sound quality.

These instruments do not only show LP’s high degree of quality but also its deep connection to the rhythms of Latin music and its ability to be adapted to the requirements of a contemporary percussionist.
