After about two years of coming on stage as a member of Whitechapel, Brandon Zackey has already turned into the new member of the band. Before 2019 with Yvek set aside, Zackey was drumming for Enterprise Earth through to 2024 and became a fill-in for Ben Harclerode who exited the band in 2017.
His love for the drums started at the young age of 9. Growing up, Brandon, who loves rock and heavy metal, joined several metal bands as a drummer. When he got to high school, he was exposed to different forms of performance such as concert bands, jazz bands, and marching bands.
With marching band and drum corps, Brandon learned to master his music with clarity of purpose. His activities expanded as he played in such internationally renowned organizations as Yamato, Esperanza, Glassmen, Riverside Community College, and Peroids as well as the famous Blue Devils. Such seasons of drum corps took him to 6 nationwide tours including several tours where he got to play at Universal Studios in Osaka Japan. He has also appeared in The Office, American Idol, and Big Love.
He then moved on to the education of high school and professional ensembles such as the Ensenada State of California’s Winterbrass 2012 and the Pacific Crest Drum and Bugle Corps in 2013- 2017. Brandon was a consultant for the Dark Sky Percussion in 2019 and has in the past been a clinician for System Blue. The clinic conducted on the drum set by Brandon was at Drumflip located in Vista CA and the drum clinic Lonestar Percussion in Fullerton California.
Among the highlights of 2016, Brandon was one of five Grand Finalists at the 27th Annual Guitar Center Drum Off where he competed with the best drummers in the country, which resulted in a tour in North America with Felix Martin. He was a touring member of the band Enterprise Earth and performs live with the deathcore act Whitechapel.
He has played with both bands around the world and in 2022 will have performed 170 shows altogether. He belonged to the sick black metal band Sicarius as well as the progressive metal band Axis Nova. Brandon plays Mapex drums, Vic Firth sticks, Zildjian cymbals, and Trick drum pedals.
